STL Technologies retains ISO 27001 accreditation

November 2010

STL Technologies, a software development company, has retained its ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management System, which was first attained in 2004.

Retaining the accreditation means that STL’s Information Security Management System continues to comply with the standard; independently verifying that STL’s processes protect information and assets in a robust manner as data is classified and risks are managed through process and technology.

STL’s MD, James Garnham, confirmed that data protection is business critical for applications such as case management software. “With the increasing need to ensure data is secure, ISO 27001 fulfils an important role. Our customers need to be confident that we are taking the right precautions when managing their data. By retaining the ISO 27001 certification, it demonstrates that we continue to deliver reliable and secure information systems."

STL was first awarded ISO 27001 in 2004, a full reassessment is required every three years, with surveillance audits which review specific sections of the Information Security Management System every 6 months. The audit was by SGS United Kingdom Ltd, a UKAS approved certification organisation.
