About STL

STL in the community

STL commits to match each £1 raised by staff with £1 for the charity that staff has chosen to support. For example, the local charity East Anglia Children's Hospice (EACH) benefited from the combined might of corporate and personal fundraising. Many staff rose to the challenge, with regular events including bake days, quizzes, competitions, car washing. Sponsored events included taking part in the Atlantic Coastal challenge and parachute jumps. EACH received a massive £25,000 donation.

Making STL an enjoyable place to work

As part of STL’s commitment to development of our staff, we conduct training needs analysis across the organisation and include it in every staff appraisal. We spend more on the training and education of our staff than ever before and we seek to continue and further develop our investment.

We encourage career development and internal promotion. All vacancies are published internally for staff to apply.

Staff and family welfare is high on our list of objectives, and we regularly provide:

  • Staff briefings and annual company conference
  • Team building and communication events
  • Social activities for employees and family
  • Staff offers from external providers
  • Annual staff social event
  • A range of Christmas presents

Two-way communication with our staff is also a key objective; we provide weekly business briefs on the major happenings within the organisation and encourage active participation through the Information and Consultation with Employees (ICE) Forum.
